Since 1993 Kassie DePaiva has been One Live to Live's beautiful
Blair Cramer... She also played good-girl chanteuse Chelsea
Reardon on "Guiding Light" from 1986 to 1991. Interwoven with
her acting work, music has always been a major factor in Kassie's
life. Born and raised in Kentucky with two older brothers
and a younger sister, as a teenager Kassie sang backup at
Nashville, Tennessee's Opryland. At the age of 18, she made
her debut as a soloist at the legendary Grand Ole Opry. While
working at Opryland, Kassie realized that she was born to
be an entertainer. Toward that end she enrolled in Indiana
University and later, at the University of California at Los
Angeles, to study theater. While attending UCLA, she became
a member of a four-part harmony band called Newport, which
performed in the Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas areas.
Kassie ultimately dropped out of college to travel with the
USO on its Orient tour to Japan, Korea and Okinawa. Shortly
after her return to the United States, Kassie sang back-up
for legendary soul singer Bobby Womack during several American
and European tours. Soon afterwards, she landed her first
professional acting role ---as Bobbie Jo in the cult classic
"Evil Dead II". Between her long stints on Guiding Light and
OLTL, Kassie also guest starred on TV's "Melrose Place", "Baywatch"
and "Timetrax". Kassie is married to "One Life to Live" co-star
James DePaiva (Max Holden), who is featured here on a duet
of Steve Wariner's timeless song "Natural History". Kassie
and Jim have one son --- James Quentin ---- born on May 12,
1997. This CD is a lifetime dream fulfilled for Kassie. Every
song was chosen and sung straight from the heart.
